What will you be doing?
The intern will be involved in advising on and preparing analyses of our investment pipeline and portfolio and will work on market analyses of the European digital infrastructure market. Further, the intern supports in developing the investment strategy and new deal execution and structuring. Photon Capital is characterized by its professional but open and informal work environment where everyone is approachable and ready to help one another. To support its growth, and to offer interested students a first insight in the world of TMT Private Equity, we are offering an intern-position supporting our small and dedicated team of M&A professionals in a close cooperation.
The main responsibilities of the intern are to support in:
  • Analyze business and market information;
  • Prepare presentations for (prospective) clients, financing parties and/or advisers;
  • Support in detailed financial analyses, financial modelling and valuation of investment opportunities
  • Support in preparation and negotiation of transaction documentation such as bid letters, term sheets, purchase agreements and investment memoranda
  • Support the due diligence processes, and perform own due diligence with a focus on financial and commercial aspects
  • Assist the investment team in monitoring and managing overall transaction projects;
What will you be doing
We are searching for a Senior Associate who is hands-on and contributes to multiple deals simultaneously. A Senior Associate at our fund is structured, maintains a good overview, and carries out various operational tasks associated with the M&A process. By combining your numerical insight and analytical skills, you actively help our fund make the right investments. The Senior Associate assists in searching for and selecting new investments. Additionally, you contribute to ongoing M&A activities. Related tasks include modeling, conducting the Due Diligence process, and the financing process. Aside from analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities, the Senior Associate also conducts thorough market research, prepares strategy and valuation reports, and assesses business cases. In collaboration with more senior colleagues, the Senior Associate participates in negotiating interesting investment opportunities. Our organizational culture requires everyone to contribute to the operational tasks involved in closing a deal. After the deal is closed, the team is intensely involved in the integration process and general monitoring for a limited period, after which the business will be handed over to the portfolio company. Through active analysis, the Senior Associate monitors the performance of the portfolio. He or she prepares reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Associate maintains client-relationships and contributes to communication with various stakeholders. This is done from the headquarters in Amsterdam, but sometimes also elsewhere in Europe.
Candidate profile
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience.
  • Familiar with strategy development and M&A processes in a corporate finance, consulting, or PE setting
  • Completed master’s degree
  • Hands-on mentality

We are looking for an Investment Manager that can work on multiple deals simultaneously, is entrepreneurial, eager to learn, and not hesitant to actively engage in various operational tasks. We believe an Investment Manager should have innovative ideas, a strategic focus, and a decisive role in future developments of the fund. By searching for and selecting new investments and building new platforms, the Investment Manager adds value to our funds in collaboration with the investment team. At Photon Capital, the Investment Manager is responsible for sourcing, analyzing,  evaluating and negotiating investment opportunities. The Investment Manager also conducts thorough (market) research, prepares strategy and valuation reports, and assesses business cases. Associated tasks include modelling, managing the due diligence process and the financing process. Our organizational culture requires everyone to contribute to the operational tasks involved in closing a deal. After closing the deal, the Investment Manager is heavily involved in the integration process and general monitoring for a limited period of time, after which the business will be handed over to the portfolio company. Through active analysis, the Investment Manager monitors the performance of the portfolio and prepares reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. The Investment Manager maintains close client-relationships and is responsible for communication with various stakeholders.
