Penta Infra, a portfolio company of Photon Capital, strengthens footprint in Copenhagen with acquisition of datacenter site
Photon Capital announces the acquisition of a site in Copenhagen by Penta Infra, a fast-growing provider of reliable and sustainable datacenters in Europe. The site will be developed into a state of the art datacenter of over 20,000m2, that will deliver 20MW of IT load.
Penta Infra currently operates a portfolio of 12 highly connected edge and core datacenters in Germany, France, Denmark, Belgium and The Netherlands. Through this acquisition, the company is enhancing its presence in Copenhagen with a second datacenter. Copenhagen is a major hub for datacenter supply in Denmark and Europe due to its strategic location as a digital gateway to Europe, offering low-latency links to markets across the region.
Additionally, Denmark consistently ranks among the world’s top countries for energy security and is a leader in renewable energy supply. Penta Infra is planning to contribute to these sustainability achievements by constructing a datacenter that will be in accordance with the utmost industry standards for energy efficiency. Penta Infra also aims to recycle the heat generated by the datacenter. This initiative has already been successfully implemented by Penta Infra’s other datacenter in Copenhagen, which currently provides heat to approximately 1,500 homes and has been recognized with an award for the most sustainable datacenter project in Denmark.
